Your device roster - every pedal and MIDI unit in your rig, cataloged in one place.
Go to the Gear tab and click + Add Device. A modal opens with two paths:
Pick your device from the template dropdown. The following devices ship with full CC maps:
Selecting a template auto-fills the device name, type, MIDI channel, and every CC parameter with proper labels, ranges, and default values.
For pedals not in the template list. Set the name, device type, and MIDI channel manually. Custom devices respond to Program Change messages from presets. CC-level control can be added by editing the device after creation.
Each device has a type that groups it in your Rig Rundown and helps organize your roster:
| Type | Examples |
|---|---|
| Drive / OD | Overdrives, distortions, fuzz |
| Modulation | Chorus, flanger, phaser, tremolo, vibrato |
| Delay | Digital and analog delays, loopers |
| Reverb | Reverb pedals, algorithmic and spring |
| Pitch / Harmonizer | Pitch shifters, harmonizers, whammy |
| Amp sim | Amp modelers, preamps, IR loaders |
| Guitar multi-FX | All-in-one units |
| Bitcrusher | Lo-fi / digital destruction effects |
| Synth | Synth pedals, envelope filters |
| Other | Anything else |
Click Edit CCs on any device card to open the CC editor overlay. It slides in from the right and shows every CC parameter for that device as a labeled slider.
Moving any slider immediately fires the CC message to your connected MIDI output. This is live - your pedal responds as you drag. Use this to dial in a tone without taking your hands off the controller.
Use the Load from preset dropdown at the top of the CC editor to populate the sliders with values from an existing preset. This is useful for starting from a known state before tweaking.
When you're editing a preset and have the CC editor open for a device, Capture → copies the current slider values into that preset's CC map for this device.
Creates a new preset named after the device and populated with the current CC values. Useful for snapshotting a sound you just dialed in.
Sends all current CC values for this device at once. Use this to sync a pedal that may have drifted out of alignment with RigWork's state.
Each device has its own MIDI channel (1–16). RigWork sends PC and CC messages to each device on its assigned channel. Make sure your pedal is configured to receive on the same channel.
The PC Count field sets how many program change numbers this device supports (default 128, i.e. PC 0–127). RigWork uses this to validate preset PC assignments and display the correct range in the Rig Rundown.
Each device card has an Edit button (pencil icon) that reopens the device form for changing name, type, channel, or PC count. The ✕ button removes the device from your roster - this also removes it from all presets.
